Heat Pumps

Traditional furnaces and air conditioners can be inefficient, leaving you with an expensive HVAC bill. Heat pumps are a simple and effective way to resolve that problem.

What is a Heat Pump?

How Heat Pumps Work

A heat pump is essentially a device installed in your home to move heat from one location to another. For example. If your home is too warm, a heat pump can move that warm air out of your home and vice versa. Heat pumps run from 200% to 400% efficiency, which is extraordinarily more efficient than traditional furnaces and air conditioning systems. Since heat pumps can serve both your home’s heating and cooling needs, you can save even more money on energy and installations, since you will only need one appliance installed at a time.

At Academy Air, we have a couple heat pump options to suit your needs:

  • Dual Fuel System: This system attaches to your furnace, making it a more effective option for many home owners in the St. Louis area than a traditional heat pump.
  • Air Handler: An air handler is a fan system that attaches right onto your heating and cooling system to move air in your home for heating, cooling and ventilation of stale air.

Traditional heating and cooling devices can be both expensive and wasteful. Here at Academy Air, we want you to get the most out of your heating and cooling system. That is why we are happy to offer heat pumps as a more efficient method to control your home’s temperature.

Dual Fuel System

Dealing with the frigid winters we have in the St. Louis area are difficult enough without having to worry about the capability and efficiency of your traditional furnace. When the temperatures drop, and you are needing to run your furnace around the clock to keep up with the icy weather, you want to be confident that you aren’t throwing money away needlessly on heating your home. Therefore, we offer our dual fuel heating system!

What is a Dual Fuel System Heat Pump?

A dual fuel system heat pump works by moving heat in and out of your home, much like a traditional heat pump. However, there is one major difference. A dual fuel system is attached directly to your home’s furnace, meaning there is still heat to pump, even in freezing temperatures.

Did You Know?

That with a dual fuel system, you can see a savings up to 300% more energy on heating and cooling your home. This level of energy efficiency is more than three times better than what a high efficiency furnace can do!

Saving money on heating when temperatures are below freezing may seem impossible, but at Academy Air, we’re here to assure you that it’s not. Let us help you stay warm and save money with our dual fuel system heat pumps.

Don’t settle for high energy costs and inefficient furnaces. Contact Academy Air today by phone at (314) 720-3580  or click here for more information on our dual fuel heat pump systems.

Air Handler

Are you looking for a relatively inexpensive and effective method to get the most value from your heating and cooling system? If so, one of our air handlers may be exactly what you are looking for!

What is an Air Handler?

Essentially, an air handler is a fan system that can be attached to your home’s heating and cooling system or not, just depending on your specific needs.

When the system is connected to your furnace or air conditioner, the air handler more effectively circulates the heated or cooled air in your home.

If the air handler is not attached to your heating or cooling system, the system will still circulate the air in your home, removing some humidity and airborne pathogens as well.

Air handlers come in a variety of sizes, capacities and complexities to handle any sized home or business.

Does an air handler system sound like the solution to your heating and cooling concerns? If so, contact Academy Air today by phone at (314) 720-3580  or click here to learn about how our air handler systems can improve your home.
