There is Water Around the Furnace
- If the air conditioner is running and there is no water coming out of the drain, the line could be clogged.
- Is the drain clogged from the evaporator coil? Remove the hose from the coil outlet and run hot water through it.
- Also clean the fitting to the evaporator coil. Be careful, you may get a lot of water from this area. Have towels ready. Pour one cup of bleach down the drain to keep mold from building up in line after the drain is thoroughly clean.
- Is the evaporator drain pan leaking? You will need to have a technician come out to check the pan. If there is water coming out of the drain line and there is water around the furnace, this could be an indication of a bad drain pan. The evaporator coil may also be out of level.
